The tree reminds me of a Jatropha, but I can't find any with white flowers. Maybe it's a type of Cnidoscolus.

That's Cnidoscolus aconitifolius, Chaya

It's a great butterfly attractor.

Thanks, Jnana! I'm growing this plant, but it's not very big yet. The young leaves are edible when cooked well.

Metro, it should grow fast for you with your warm weather. It's a great little tree. Mine is about 9' and butterflies are always around. The Zebra Longwing loves the flowers.
I'm leery when it comes to trying things that are toxic. The leaves have to be cooked for a determinate amount of time to lose the toxicity, so i don't dare try just in case I don't get it right.

I just Id some mushrooms that are growing on my lawn. Supposedly they are good eating, but I don't think I'm going to try them anytime soon just in case I got it wrong LOL

I'll see if they are still around with all the rain I got with TS Fay.
Will be right back.

Metro it's still raining, but the mushroom was supposed to be a Lepiota one of the Parasol mushrooms. There is another similar mushroom that is quite toxic so just in case I got the Id wrong I wouldn't touch it.

Good precaution Jnana. With mushrooms, and deciding whether to eat them or not, the rule is: "When in doubt, don't!"

Hope you folks are getting through the storm without harm.

Aloha, Dave

Thanks, no harm thank goodness,. This rain is just typical tropical summer rains although we are still feeling some wind from Fay. It is a large storm.
