Someone pulled this tree from the soil, and it was lying on the ground when I picked it up. I thought that it looked like a peach tree, so I planted it back. now it has been a while, the leaves are growing back again. they don't look like peach tree leaves.

so I am thinking about cutting it.

It's a little blurred, but possibly an oleander?

That's a good guess -- they are common ornamentals here in So.California.

I read they are allergenic/producers. So I sneer at them (through my watering eyes and runny nose) whenever I see them planted along streets and freeways...

Can you take another photo that's not blurry? Oleanders have their leaves in whorls. It almost looks like some species of willow, but that's just a guess.

Yep, could well be a willow. The leaves look to be (mostly?) alternate, though there do also appear to be one or two opposite pairs. A clearer photo would help a lot.

when i first got it, i thought that i got lucky, i got a peach tree for free. haha.

after the leaves grow to full size, i also thought that it might be a willow tree.
