Have these planted in one of the main alleys in a bot. garden but no name on them. Can anyone help me to put a name on it ? At first look the base of the branches seems like a date palm but the fan shaped leaves suggest a sort of livinstona. But in fact what is it ? The fruits and seeds are round . The fruits are deep purple to black when ripe and when cleaned ( the seeds ) are light brown to beige ,same colour as livinstona chinensis but are not of same shape. Here is a pic of the palm.

Because of the armed petioles and bluish colored fruit, maybe Livistonia chinensis.

Definitely looks like Livistonia chinensis to me too: [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com] We have those here in Florida.

Well , no sorry is not L.chinensis as can see in my pic the fruits are round and as i told in my descriptions. L.chinensis fruits and seeds also are rather (long ) elongated and not as round like in mine. Also the leaves are very split whereas in L.chinensis the leaves are all in one piece or little split at the tips. L.chinensis is also common in Mauritius and i do have couple of them too ,but are not like the ones i'm trying to idy.

Maybe Livistona jenkensiana. It has leaves with numerous segments and dense clusters of leaden-blue fruit.
