Our seed savers group was sent seed which included "Lion Fruit" The sender was not identified and we cannot find out anything about how to grow. Seedlings are now ready to prick out. Have tried Google, Wikipedia and every gardening book we can lay our hands on.
Thanks for the replies, I don't think I have the right answer yet. Looked at leonotus leonorus
native to South Africa and related to the mint family. From the picture it looks similar to
phlomis where the stem grows up through the centre of the flower. Resin, I am not sure what I
would do with the offspring of panthera leo? Don't think the other farmers in our area would be
impressed...Will try for a photo when they get a bit bigger, leaves appear to similar to
to marrow.'
That would be my first guess too, or else maybe dragonfruit [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com] Should be pretty easy to tell lion's tail and dragonfruit apart once they get just a little bit bigger. Of course it could be something else entirely, a lot of times it seems like people make up their own names for things.
