Greetings to all of our friends!
We believe 2008 will be an exciting year with many great new varieties, innovations, and other positive changes. We are beginning the year with nine fantastic varieties and in late spring will introduce a completely new line of roses that will revolutionize the industry and your garden!
You may notice several changes with Nor’ East this year, the most obvious being that we replaced our expensive catalog with a smaller flyer and are relying more heavily on the internet to convey information. This allows us to pass our cost-savings on to our customers, keeping our shipping and plant prices low. Also, due to popular demand, we have integrated plant hardiness zones into our proper planting guide and a new lookup feature is available on our website to locate your zone. In order to continue offering nearly 200 varieties in our product line, a new Jumbo Liner is being introduced for Limited Editions. This great little product has been grown for our wholesalers for years and is not much different than our standard 3.5” pot. Some of you may have already had an opportunity to try this product out in 2007. If not, we think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Although it seems that mail order companies are a thing of the past, we continue our commitment to growing top quality product at reasonable prices.
Have a great season!
Bill De Vor and the Nor'East Team

order i got today. two roses had no leaves they were pruned down to nothing!.
why this was done is there own reason but heres my problem its 96 degrees outside which means i have to baby them and hope they leaf out again.
also the 3rd rose is supposed to be doubletake but- no tag! getting sloppy !
hopefully the 2 roses make it , if not they will need to replace them. On July 9th, 2008, redstar changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:
nor-east roses contacted me to fix my rose order. the 2 roses that were pruned
hard were not to go out. nor- east is sending me replacement roses which makes me happy. | | Positive | sacajawea (13 reviews) | On May 10, 2008, sacajawea Keswick, VA wrote: Last spring I ordered from this company for the first time. I wanted to put the roses in hanging baskets. My order arrived in excellent condition; healthy plants and packaged well. The roses did extremely well - even though we had a very, very dry summer. This year I was shocked when all made it through the winter (albeit a very mild one). The roses were in such excellent condition. This spring I ordered more - some for a border and some for pots. Again, wonderful, healthy plants arrived. Just placed another order for filling in some bare areas around the house. Very pleased with Nor'east and would certainly recommend them. | | Positive | Pinetucky (21 reviews) | On May 8, 2008, Pinetucky Swainsboro, GA (Zone 8a) wrote:My rose order arrived when expected and in perfect condition. A totally positive experience. | | Positive | sejasrun (1 review) | On May 3, 2008, sejasrun Wyoming, RI wrote: My experience so far was great. The 5 roses I ordered came in the time they promised and were packaged extremely well. I've never received plants that looked as healthy as these. All were leafed out and 2 were already in bloom. If they grow as well as promised I'll be back next year for a dozen more!

I ordered for the first time last summer (around July) and was so amazed by the size/quality of the plants which arrived ready to bloom that I immediately placed another order. Most made it through the winter without problems but I do have to replace a few that the Siberian huskies demolished or the geese stepped on (sigh). My fault....I need to protect these little babies until they are woody enough to hold up to my animals. Bottom line is that these roses were much much nicer than those I ordered from another miniature rose company at the same time. I'll stick with Nor-East! | | Positive | 7cards (2 reviews) | On February 6, 2008, 7cards Gilbert, AZ wrote: I ordered 4 mini 18" trees and 22 mini roses from NE. I'm so pleased with my trees and bushes. The trees I potted and I just rec'd the bushes, I will be putting them into the ground. I look forward to ordering more from them.

A happy customer... | | Positive | bagel_k (11 reviews) | On August 27, 2007, bagel_k Central, NJ (Zone 6b) wrote:I bought 3 minis from NE in May. Plants arrived in time, they were in good shape, well packaged, and two were in bud. They are doing very well in my garden, have grown and blooming for the third time now. I'd buy from them again if I could find more room for roses in my small yard. | | Positive | queenofthegarde (12 reviews) | On August 24, 2007, queenofthegarde Whittier, CA wrote: I've ordered probably 100 or more roses from this firm. Experiences have been good. Great service, great packaging. The roses arrive picture perfect - they look like they are grown in a greenhouse. They end up looking rather different in the real world of my no-spray garden.
However, I ordered a rose in sufficient quantities to finish my rose border - the order went through on the site, but I was later told that they had discontinued the variety and they could only partially fill my order. Considering that I had been slowly accumulating the plants to build a border, I was really disappointed. I was further disappointed that the customer service rep was rather rude and essentially told me tough luck. I requested that they propagate enough roses to satisfy my order, but the customer service rep said no way and suggested another cultivar instead (one that has a markedly different flower size and bush size). So, I am left with 1/2 of a finished border. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I really feel like this is a totally corporate, money-driven firm. Too bad! I'll take my business elsewhere whenever possible in the future - especially to the small growers who put customers first. On August 24th, 2007, queenofthegarde changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:
I had a call today from Nor\'East. They had read my comments here on GW and wanted to fix the problem. WIthin an hours time, they tracked down plants to fulfill my canceled order (at least in part - the minimum quantity I needed to finish my border). They plan to acquire the plants, harden them off in their greenhouse, and ship them to me as soon as possible! I really appreciate the extra effort to fill my order even though they have discontinued the variety. Also, they wanted to share that they are indeed a small business and did not want to be associated with a cold corporate image.
I really feel better about the situation and am glad that NorEast cares about the happiness of their customers. | | Positive | walkergardens (2 reviews) | On June 25, 2007, walkergardens Sheridan, AR (Zone 7b) wrote:I received my first order from this company and all I can say is "WOW!" I opened the packaging, which arrived within a week of my order, and THREE of the four roses I ordered had blooms on them and the fourth has buds which look like they'll be opening any day now. They're healthy, good sized and were packaged very well. I have already ordered another six roses from them and will be getting my freebie through the American Rose Society (they offer a nice deal for ARS members, by the way - you can join your ARS at [HYPERLINK@www.ars.org).] Thanks, Nor'East for the great shipment and for supporting your American Rose Society members!

I opened them up last night and was impressed by the packaging and condition of the plants. Next time I order minis, I will be looking up Nor'East Miniture Roses! On June 15th, 2007, cfarres added the following:
A couple of weeks after my order arrived, The Absolutely rose bloomed. Only one problem - the rose was pure red and Absolutely is a yellow blend. None fo the other roses were supposed to be a pure red either.
I called them up and explained the problem. I was then given a shipping date for the replacement plant - no hassle, no questions - very easy.
My replacement came in on Wednesday (only 3 days to go completely across country) and the little buds on it were yellow, so I know it is marked correctly. This pllant also got here in very good shape.
So, their customer service is as good as the quality of the roses they send. All were very well packaged and seemed to suffer very little damage from shipping. A bit later some shipping shock has occurred with yellowing of leaves, but that seems to be resolving now as they settle in. currently still to cold at night for them to be planted so they are waiting in pots under light. They are very well leafed, budded, and several are blooming. Staff was courteous and very helpful. I'll defintely order more roses from them!

I'll be ordering again, without hesitation.

I have ordered now close to a hundred mini's from Nor'East and what a treat when I get my order. In this batch I just got, 6 out of the 7 had at least 2 to 3 buds on them. One had two fully opened flowers on them. They are just so green and healthy and not to mention to variety they offer. I am also happy to see the Tiny Petals collection included.
Looking forward to my next batch! Nor'East, thanks! | | Positive | imnoangel (2 reviews) | On November 9, 2005, imnoangel Tonasket, WA wrote: Wednesday, October 5th, I placed an order online and received a confirmation email. On Monday the 10th and on the 11th got emails stating there was a problem with the payment. I was using a friend's credit card and they wanted to confirm it. My friend called them up, let them know the credit card belonged to them and explained I had permission. I was told my order would be sent out within a day or two. Haven't heard back from them.
Sent about two or three emails, one just the other day saying I haven't been notified about my order and if it's not sent then I will ask for a refund. Granted, I didn't order much, just the Spice Drop and the rose recipe book, but it's the principle of the thing. I paid for those items and have yet received them.
I only ordered from them because they were a link on Edmunds' roses and at the time I couldn't find somewhere else to get microminiature roses. Since then, fortunately, I have found a company with a better reputation on this site. I will keep on hounding them until I get a full refund or my order. On November 10th, 2005, imnoangel added the following:
Recieved an email today. Not surprised since I told them I would soon ask for a refund that they show their face. Said the order had not been processed yet because they haven't taken the money out. Supposedly, they have not been able to get the credit card to go through.
I'm going to give them one more chance because I'm getting fed up with them. So much for customer service! On November 19th, 2005, imnoangel changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:
I received an email Friday morning, sent Thursday, from another employee at Nor\'East. She explained the problems they had, that when when the order was processed, the credit card authorizing company apparently did not recognize the transaction. That was unknown to me.
I was told that due to the amount of time the original order came in, that they would go ahead and send me my order, the arrival date being Friday the 18th. I\'m out of town at the moment, but someone was aware of the package. It did show up on the date mentioned and I was informed it arrived with blooms and buds, in good condition, along with the book.
I am pleased with this person\'s idea of business. She explained to me the problem with processing my order, not just saying the money wasn\'t taken out, conducting herself in an orderly fashion.
I was going to get a Money Order next week and pay for my order that way, which I\'m still going to do. Now I know the problem lay with the credit card company and not with Nor\'East I might do business with them. Guess I\'ll stick to MO\'s. | | Positive | mholmgren (7 reviews) | On September 21, 2005, mholmgren Myrtle Point, OR wrote: Roses arrived promptly, in perfect condition. Several of them in bloom. I just got 8 minature roses from Nor'east Miniature Roses and I have never been happier with an internet rose order in all my time of ordering roses this way. Every lovely mini rose was healthy, full, totally green (not a yellow leaf to be found), most were budding and about half were blooming. They all had new growth and were very very healthy looking roses. Not only that, but I got a great deal....buy 3 get 1 free with free shipping! What a great sale! I loved them so much, I ordered 4 more from them and also placed an order for 4 more for a friend as a birthday present. I trust them THAT much!!! I can't think of another vendor I would trust to send perfect roses that would be worthy of gift-giving!
I look forward to ordering from them again and can't wait to see what other great deals they'll offer in the future.

Very pleasant experience! | | Positive | vixiera (6 reviews) | On July 2, 2005, vixiera Marysville, WA wrote: I ordered 6 roses (plus 1 cracker jack rose) from Nor'East last fall and planted them outside later. They all survived the winter and I even had a few blooms in the fall after planting them. They were well packaged and very lush and green. This spring and summer they are all in bloom and very lovely. The prices were reasonable and the information on planting and growing them was informative and helpful. I have a few miniature roses that were purchased at local hardware stores, but I may replace them with some more colorful varieties from Nor'East. Great roses and I have already recommended them to friends and family as being more hardy and disease resistant than grafted varieties. I have not had any problems with disease and even the aphids haven't really affected them. Great plants! On July 23rd, 2005, vixiera added the following:
I had another recent experience with Nor\'East. I had a question about a climber I had ordered from them last fall as the tag showed it being a 16-20\" mini rose. My e-mail was promptly replied to (within 24 hours) and I was even offered a replacement on the rose, along with an explanation that the one I had received is indeed a climber. I was happy that my original order was correct, but also impressed with their desire to make sure I was satisfied by offering to replace the rose in question. Now all I need to do is find room for more mini roses so I can place another order! | | Positive | yao (7 reviews) | On June 17, 2005, yao San Francisco, CA wrote: I was an old customer before they changed (even used to go to the old Massachusetts farm to see the roses in person). After the ship date came and went by two days I called. The service I received on the phone was less than spectacular, close to rude. At least I was promptly given a credit, although I feel compelled to verify on my credit card statement in case someone "forgot" again. Out of all, my favorite has ended up being the 1/2 price special they throw in with the purchase of 5. Superb plants, excellent prices, wonderful communication with the buyer. Basically, because they felt the rose I ordered is smaller, they've automatically included another rose as a gift.
Dazzler ended up losing all its leaves and about a month later, I contacted Nor'east to ask them what can I do to boost the poor little rose. The representative determined that it was probably dead and they'll send me a replacement of my choice, which was sent overnight. Overall, I've had excellent service from them.
