Hi Rick, I'm in S.Central Pa. Your garden is an inspiration! What type of birch is that, with the peeling bark?

Rickwebb Dec 15, 2013

My two front yard trees are Heritage River Birches, Betula nigra 'Heritage'; this cultivar is commonly sold at many nurseries. It has a more creamy and peeling bark than the regular straight species of River Birch. It grows fast, about 2 ft/yr.
